How to Open and Close your POS shifts

Open A New Shift

From your POS dashboard go to your menu on the left hand side of your screen and select ‘Shifts’. Then select ‘Open A Shift.’ You will be prompted to open a shift if you haven’t done so, before starting a new order.

If a shift is already open, you will have the option to use an existing shift. Be very careful about opening multiple shifts on one PC.

Enter in your beginning days cash in the register and click ‘OK,’ you will then be re-directed to a new order.

Note: You will see a ‘Close Shift’ message screen if there are any open shifts on that POS terminal. In that case you will have to close that shift first by providing the current cash balance of the cash drawer on the screen that will display. If you chose a presently open shift, you will not be asked for a drawer count again. Also, when closing a shift, if the drawer cash balance you provide does not match the internal records, you will be asked to confirm the drawer balance.

Close A Shift

Select ‘Shifts’ from the menu on the left hand side of your POS dashboard. Choose ‘Checkout Shift’ and enter the cash and checks from your drawer.

Click ‘Checkout’ at the bottom of your screen. You will then be prompted to print your shift report, or click ‘OK’ to continue. You are now ready to checkout for the day.

Note: If the cash balance you enter does not match your opening balance, you will be asked to confirm.
